Just the threat of possible Congressional action to allow domestic oil production already has the Saudis spooked. If Congress actually took action the real source of high oil prices, the speculators who make money trading oil futures, item335343089 would begin to dump their oil future holdings. They would know that domestic oil production in the United States would reduce the future price of oil significantly. That would drop the price of oil on the international market by 50-60% almost immediately.
What exactly is a reverse mortgage? It is a way for someone 62 years of age or older to borrow against the equity of their home to get tax-free cash. There are no loan payments until you die, sell your home or move from your home. A reverse mortgage is a way of getting money from your home without having to make monthly payments.
CTEC courses A lawsuit is filed against anyone with a recorded interest. How do you find this out? You have a title search done and it will reveal who has a recorded interest or lien. I know of an example here in SW Florida where an attorney and real estate broker paid a bank $ 153,000 cash for a house in a foreclosure sale and the bank did NOT OWN THE HOUSE. Knowing who has a recorded interest is the real purpose of a quiet title action. Once you have served notice on the party/s that have a recorded interest, here is where the ice gets thick.
CTEC classes I live in California. This means my business and individual taxes are controlled by the Franchise Tax Board. The “FTB” makes the IRS look like Mother Theresa. It is nasty agency that will spare no penny going making a taxpayer’s life utterly miserable. Given this reputation, you can imagine how I felt when I opened my post office box and found a thick letter from the FTB among my bills and junk mail. Oh, no.
Capital gains tax is the tax that you pay on an investment such as stocks, real estate, etc. There are two types of capital gains tax: short term and long term. Short term refers to holding onto an investment for less than one year. Long term refers to holding onto an investment for at least 1 year long. Short term capitals gains are taxed at the ordinary income tax level whereas long term capital gains are currently capped at 15%. The cap for long term capital gains tax is up to 15% till the end of 2012 where it will then be raised in 2013. The long term capital gains tax could possibly be raised to 20% or even 25% depending on the congressional actions.
CTEC approved provider Term life insurance is issued for a specific term of years, usually 5-10 or 20 years. At the end of the term, the policy lapses, ends, or you can renew it based on your age then, at a much higher cost. Term life has no cash value build-up and is therefore much cheaper than the other policies.
Withdrawals from the TFSA are not taxable and the account holder can withdraw funds at any time. Flexible contribution rules make deposits and withdrawals easy. People may choose to open accounts with spousal contributions to save for their children’s expenditures. The graph below shows how a couple can contribute $5000 or less to the TFSA each year. Please note that since the couple was not able to contribute 5000$ in year 4 the rollover balance of contribution of 1500$ can be contributed in the following years. Hence in the following year the couple contributes 6500$ in all.
If you just want to just save up cash then open a separate savings account. Or for slightly better interest rates place the money in a money market account. While it won’t grow the way a 529 plan or ESA can, it would be the safer choice especially if your kids are teenagers already and close to graduating from high school. This is also a good option when they are in the first couple of years of college. If you got a late start in saving but can now sock away lots of cash, doing so in a bank account or money market account would make sense. If you time it right, you could even look at 6-month or 12-month CD’s that mature just before the semester that you may need it for.
